1996 E4OD FAILED! What Now????
Well folks, we got a weekend out of the spewing E4OD in our 1996 rig below.
Now, the E4OD is done for, NO FORWARD GEARS.
So.... 10 tons
What do ya do?
Get a junk yard tranny in there fast so we can RV right away? What tranny years years will fit like a glove? 1995? 1997? C6?
and then take our current case and have it rebuilt with all the good stuff???
What do ya do????
Thanks for all your tips?

A C6 will fit with quite a few modifications.
Have you tried refilling the transmission? These transmissions are known to dump fluid when they get too hot and then the pump doesn't have any fluid to operate the trans. Once it's refilled it usually works fine until the next time it's overheated.
More transmission cooling will help a lot, and so will replacing the front seal with an aftermarket Viton seal.
