Clicking noise after using 4WD

Yesterday i used the 4WD on my 1995 Ford F-350 7.3 powerstroke 5-speed diesel, right after i took it out of 4WD i heard a strange clicking noise, when in gear and when it just sits there and idles. but when i drive it gets louder and worse. Anyone know what this could be?
<!-- / message --> <!-- controls -->

*I just listened to it again and its more like something is rattling underneath. it sounds pretty bad, someone help??

are your front hubs still locked??
could be a bad universal in the front driveshaft.

I left them locked for two miles after I reversed it out of 4WD. And before I drove it this morning I unlocked them.

To the OP,
if the noise is in gear only Id say it could be a stretched tc chain. If you also hear it in neutral then its probably something loose.

To the DAN,
I need to get some cat that needs a heat sheild.

The noise doesn't change at all when I put it in gear or 4WD.. And its coming from the transfer case area. Could it be the 4WD adjustment?

Im going with something loose or an exhaust leak.

If it were t-case related I dont think you would be hearing a noise when in neutral.
