New Water Pump Opinions

Don't let rock auto scare ya. A lot of times on that website it is the exact same part just different makers. I had about $65 in all three hoses when I did them this winter. $14.99 for the upper around the belt hose, $18.99 for the lower, and $29.99 for the stupid little hose from the overflow to the radiator. I souls also recommend the billet aluminum housing that was mentioned. Worth the money and headache or reusing the stock one.

Clay has OEM water pumps for $115, cant beat that. The upper rad hose you want is the one with dual alternaters on the truck. I went to carquest yesterday and bought 2 of them 1 ea for my trucks and they were only $16 and made by Gates
Edit...I miss spoken, $148 for the waterpump. Still a good deal IMO

I stll want to know what caused failure on a new Airtex pump in only 6k miles????
Was the cooling system CLEAN??
Also, just about 3 years ago it seemed that "EVERYONE" was switching to the 203* TStat, it was said that International installs a 203* in the 7.3s in their Medium trucks, and back 3 years ago all I heard was to use the 203* unit-which I did while doing my water pump, hoses and cooling system flush and swap to ELC.
Now everyone says NOT to run the 203*........I have not noticed any difference really in my engine, mileage or performance, I live in FL where its pretty darn hot and humid too..........

I have alot of respect for Bob at Dieselsite, therefore I'm leaving MY 203* TStat right where it is!
