cross flow fuel issue

Couple months ago my 93 half ton 302 started pumping into the rear tank. The factory issued recall had me tow my truck to Jim keim Ford only to tell me my truck was not covered under the recall. They could not even tell me why it wasn't covered when the recall showed all 80-96 trucks and vans with duel tanks that had the issue were covered. Can anyone tell me the part that has failed and possibly why it is not covered?

The part you need is a Fuel Delivery Module/Assembly (FDM).
It either has a bad high pressure check valve in inside it or a bad shuttle valve.
The bad FDM is in the tank that is filling or in this case the rear tank.

Someone posted on here that the recall was only good for 12 years.

The FDM:

So since the fuel is going from the front tank to the rear I need a rear pump? That would make since since the rear tank is rarely used due to a leaky tank.

The recall has expired. might as well get a new tank, when you get the new pump, get the one thats the delivery module, you need the plastic that contains the check valve. You will have to use the fuel guage assy off your old pump, unless it don't work, then if that's the case you'll have to buy that too. Might want to check your fuel pressure, the origional recall was because the fuel pressure regulator was made from carbon steel, and wore out putting full pressure against the check valve causing it to fail. I had to replace mine, when I did the pump.

I bought the tank from rock auto for about $100, the fuel pump came from advanced for about $150, it's an airtech, with a lifetime warrenty

Yeah I put front tank and pump last year for like 300 so I guess its time to do the rear. Might as well do the regulator too, take care of my baby.

you need both tanks. It sucks paying to fill them both, but you don't have to do it as ofte..

fpr is easy on the v/8, not so much on the I6. you can still do it on the I6 without removing the plenum, but you kinda have to stand upside down and to the side lol
