Thanks guys.
The FE is running like a top. Matter of fact my brother is down this weekend for a wedding so we went out for a drive yesterday. It was his first time driving the new engine. Needless to say my tires are a bit more worn.
So now the only thing left to do that hasn't been rebuilt is the rear end.
I'll get to that soon. This truck is to fun to drive.
Here's a couple pix of the Fairlane.
It'll have a 428 with a tunnel ram hangin' out the hood 70's baby.
C6 with a 4.30 gear.
Should do 10.5s at 130
This motors not even built and am planning a bigger one already.

Ooh that's nice.
I'll tell you one thing. Buying one that's already built sure would be easier.
These things rust like nobodies business. Better to have someone else do it.
My excuse........I'm stupid. Check this cancer out. And the problem is, no one makes replacements like on mustangs so you have to fab your own.
Put a full year into rust repair.

Nice project man! I've been thinking along the same lines with a 69/69 Torino fastback for my next project.

Also nice fix for the wheel hop. Been thinking along the same lines for spring wrap.

If you need Brandon, I'll send you shots of the brackets.
Would be an easy fab for you.
I would suggest making the u bolt bracket a little taller.

I'd appreciate it.

I'm torn between that design or a single torque arm from WFO.

Just a matter of how involved you want to get.
It's an hour install with this set up. Hardest part is drilling holes.

True! But you guys know me and welding. Other than the crossmember for the front bracket either one looks to be a pretty simple job.

Oh yeah we know you.
And we know which way you'll go
I pretty much put that out there for the rest of us mere mortals.
Have fun.

Cool Idea for the wheel hop solution!

Must be a pretty serious 428 you're putting in that Fairlane to be going for mid-10's... NICE! Always have had a soft spot for the Fairlanes, both vehicles are looking awesome Marc.

Brandon, if you build a 68-69 Fastback Torino post pictures on here... That's the car my dad and I built when we couldn't find a nice 66-67 Fairlane!

Thanks Jim.
Yeah I'm going to push the 428 as far as I can and try to keep it together by holding the rpms to 6500/6800. The math says it should work, cross fingers.
I'm a little concerned about it but hey, it's what I have. Woohoo.

Well best wishes with it! When I lurk over on the FE forum I see you over there quite a bit, so I know you're doing your homework!
