I'm not particular which way to go.
If I came across a crown Vic I would do that but I have some real good hot rod shops close by that do mustang II front ends.
I did one from Scott's hot rods on my mustang and it works great.
Although the Vic would be cheaper.
Also I wouldn't mind doing it with a bump side. That might look real good.

You ever have a little bs problem that bugs the shiite out of you?
Rattles are mine.
Today I decided to fix one that bugs the hell out of me with no fix available.
Turn the sound up.

When you buy a new steering column bearing they are 19mm. Don't get me started. Oh I guess I am already.
In inches our shaft od is about .734, that is right in between an 18 and 19mm id bearing.
After a trip to the groovy bearing store close to me, I found there is no such thing as a .734 id bearing anymore (if anyone knows something, share).
So the only thing to do is make a bushing.
I immediately thought of using one of the throttle shaft nylon bushings for a Holley carb. Didn't work, not stiff enough to push the bearing over it.
I went down to my handy dandy good auto parts store and rooted around till I found on of these. Hmm, I could turn that down and make it work.

So back home I went and started figuring. The problem with turning it down is it has to get so thin that it would prolly just wad up. Also how do you grab it without crushing it.
So my bench sander and Dremel did the job very nicely. Took about an hour to heat it cool it and get it done.
Then it wouldn't push on over the shaft even though I knew it was the right size.
The fix? Cut it, it doesn't have to be all the way around, just most of the way.

Nicely done. Gotta love the aftermarket philosophy of ehh close enough. Seem like everything for our trucks is that way.

My stock bearing is starting to wear out. The top and bottom bearing are on my list as well.

Nope you haven't missed it.
I have yet to rebuild the rear end.
Been kinda busy with the front and working my way back.
Next big deal is the rear end and an overdrive. The switches are just already in.
The compressor will be the big one mounted in the tool box to supply the locker plus anything else it will do.
BTW got my traction bars in the mail. They will work perfect. Soon as I have a couple days I'll install them.

390 cam advice

My rig is a 75 ford f100 had the 360 which is being took out and rebuilt and converted to the 390. I'm swapping the old intake for the edelbrock performer and the carb for a holley 750. Money allowing headers soon .. Got 3:50 gears and 33x12.50x15 m/t . I use my truck for everything from huntin to hittin mud holes to just crusin to haulin scrap or whatever I need it for. I would like a good soundin cam but really I want one that's gonna work best with my setup.. Also it's a 4speed with the granny gear . Any help would be appreciated

I think he just misunderstood Jackson.
I gave him the thread address to check out because he's about to do a motor and I thought he might like to check out the pits I fell through.
Notice his thread count he's a newbie so I'll give him a pass.
Thanks though for your defense. Reps comin'
