Parts pile is getting bigger and work is progressing on the top end of Smokey.
Won't be to long now before I have to pick a weekend to get at it.
I guess it should also be said that there are a few things I am a sucker for;
Pretty girls
Pretty guns
Good alcohol
And shiny ****t for my trucks.

Marc, that seat looks like a million dollars. If I thought for a minute that I could have had dad's look that good, I wouldn't have went with buckets. That's the one regret that I have about my restoration, selling the seat that dad sat on when he drove it. I did sell it to a young girl (very cheap) for her father for his birthday, so, someone else's happy memories now I suppose. Anyway, beautiful interior. Those colors are really nice. And as for the bumper, painted things are nice, especially nicely painted things, but there is just no substitute for shiny...

I used to have a great little shop that did very nice upholstery work but the guy that owned the shop died and the shop closed.
After asking around quite a bit, I found a guy named Albert Lara. He is a one guy operation and works out of his garage so no over head.
He has now done two seats for me and they are both beautiful. His prices start at $400. The seat below is the seat for my wifes truck, it was $425. My seat had to have the frame and springs rebuilt and was more work (front pockets, etc.). It was $625. That price also included the headliner.
If you are close to LA I highly recommend this kid. He is a pleasure to pay your hard earned money to.
PM me if you need his number.

Just a quick post to bring y'all up to date on Smokey.
Have had my nose to the grindstone lately as my daughter is getting married tomorrow. In my extra hours I've just about got the interior done.
Connor did the dash pad and steering wheel. They are both awesome.
Just got back from Vegas. Drove Smokey up, so I got a real good feel on the steering wheel. It feels 10 times better than the naked wheel.
Installed a Retrosound model one stereo. Very happy with it.
Still collecting parts for the engine and steering rebuild. Figure while the dog house is off I'll tackle the a/c too.
All in all, it has become a very trustworthy fine running vehicle.
I could not be happier with it.
