If you don't mind me asking, how much did the bumper rechrome set you back? I have one here that I'd like to get done. I had an aftermarket for a while, but it was starting to peel before my buddy stuffed it in a bank (I warned him about the 460 and tight posi in the rain...). I'd like to just get my original rechromed as opposed to wasting money on another cheap aftermarket.

I think it was cheap as hell.
The normal rechrome and straighten is $160 with the extra copper $200.
My painter set me up with the plater so there may be a little back scratching going on as I am spending lots with the painter.
Bottom line is, it's a great job for a reasonable price.

It lays down a deeper substructure so that it gets smoother and more liquid looking.
When you look at chrome it's easy to tell when the plater did not go the extra yard and lay down a good base.
When done correctly the chrome looks almost liquid.
To tell you the truth he did TO good a job for what I'm going to do with this truck. But i tell you what. My old plater can kiss my @$$ (pardon me). I've found a new guy. I can't tell you the amount I spent with the old guy and he never got to this level. He didn't care as much as this guy obviously did.
When you see the work side by side you can tell immediately.

That seat looks great and the price for the bumper is cheap. I'd get mine redone for that money.
On another note you've inspired me to take a little road trip in my 77 F-250. Mines been a great runner for me, I've just never gone far in it. So next weekend I'm planning on taking on a 600 mile round trip. If everything goes well this week. I just finished putting a hydroboost system on it so I want to make sure I have all the bugs are worked out of it.
Should be more fun than my wifes Honda crv.
