Exclamation 4x4 c6 clogged governor? what can i do?

Hi guys im new on here but fell in love with the website anyone think they could help me out i would app. it!

Im almost positive this is the problem i just had the transmission rebuilt 200 miles ago and it will manually shift fine but it stays in 2nd and 3rd gear when in drive? Im pretty sure the cooler had some kind of junk it, it was the same one i used before. What can i do about cleaning it? i was going to try seafoam then do a fluid/filter change but i heard thats not the best what to do it...?

i know where the governor is im just not a 100% sure on how to take it off to clean or replace it any tips on how to take it off and is it easy?
THANKS!

This is the factory cooler in the radiator, right? Seafoam is not going to do it, it will just knock the crud loose and get into the filter or worse, clog one of the lines. You're going to need to disconnect the lines and use compressed air to blow it out. If the lines are corroded internally then you're better off getting a new radiator.

What governor are you talking about?

BTW you have to wait more than 19 minutes for an answer.

Two questions (maybe obvious). Is the kickdown rod properly connected? Is the vacuum supply properly hooked up to full manifold vacuum?

everything is hooked up right i used my old exterinal cooler and forgot to clean it out 100% and the lines may have alittle junk inside of them.... So if i used the seafoam to break down all the junk and do a filter and fluid change, and also blow out lines and flush cooler out it would help much?

The governor im talking about is in the output of the transmission and does anyone have a step by step on how to remove the governor that way i know i get it unclogged?
THANKSSS!

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...aft-79-c6.html Here is a link with a pic of the governor. Pull the transfer case then the adapter and you will see what`s in the pic.

Exactly. Check the sealing rings when you slide it off.
Use Parts Clean or brake cleaner or standard lacquer thinners. Use a lint free cloth to wipe everything clean.

You might loose a little, but it does not hold any fluid in the tailshaft housing.. You'll loose more out of the govener than the housing.
