Transmission fluid...leaking?

Drove to Kansas City Missouri for this past weekend.. made it there fine. cruised 70 highway.. (got 19.2mpg might i add). but when I came back and was unloadin in my driveway I had some nasty puddles under the truck.. The first puddle was rear diff fluid..it had rusted out. B
ut the front was a lot of trans fluid...kinda in a spray pattern but mostly directly under the truck.
No shifting problems... fluid level is still good.. so im keeping trans fluid in my tool box and driving to diagnose..
Drove today to work and around town some and back home. Enough to get it warm and get on it a bit up to 60 mph. Nothing spraying like yesterday...Not even a steady drip.
I guess ill have to wipe it all down and watch more closely?
Any ideas?
It did sit all from september till March or so.. but the seal shouldnt have dried up that quick? It was unloaded the entire trip..

i UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS A VENT ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION,MAKE SURE IT IS NOT PLUGGED AND BUILDING UP PRESSURE IN THE TRANS.IF IT IS IT WILL BLOW OIL OUT THE SEAL.

Sounds like you got it hot and it boiled out a little. Put a cooler up front and get a guage.

For that reason I was to ask if you had a tranny gauge. I agree with Glenn in this. Ill also would think to change the fluid because the heat.

If the front seal has never been changed it will start to leak hot. Then it will take less and less hot to get it to leak. When it leaks it REALLY DUMPS and then it will seal back up tight without a drip when it cools.

5 hours of work and $5 in parts to change it.
