Thumbs up Rented One

I was lucky enough to be upgraded to an Escape from a Taurus in February during a personal trip to Boston. I was lucky in that it snowed 27 1/2 inches 3 days later.

I own a A4WD Mountaineer and just bought a '97 2WD limited slip Expy. I love the Expy and can live with the Mountaineer (bought new in '98) as the wife drives it. It has shaking problems but that is another story for that forum.

I was impressed with the Escape. It was the standard rental, cloth, etc. but was 4WD with the little V6. It would outrun both of my SUVs and trudged through the snow and following quick melt flooding with no problem. It was small and rougher than my vehicles BUT I wouldn't mind owning one for around town or off roading (like I ever did off road other than in Nascar parking lots).

Go for it Escale owners........
