Rear view mirror removal

Anyone have any insight as to how the rear view mirror is removed on a 2010 Expedition? The local dealership got their collective butts kicked for 2 hours yesterday. About 6 months after we bought the truck the windshield started to de-laminate. The dealership had a local glass company replace the windshield. In the process of replacement they broke the mirror plastic cover that hides the wires, and it vibrates. Now the dealership can't figure out how to get it off. Any help? Thanks.

Not sure if they are the same. But I changed the mirror on my Mustang and it was a bitch. The correct tool for the little spring clip is the one at the bottom of the attached thread, not the forked one. My 08 Expy and the 08 Mustang would use the same tool, not sure about the 2010.

Thanks for that Bopper. That's pretty much what I had in mind as to what to look for/make. That thing is on there pretty good.
