Q's about small block swap

I have a 73 F100 390 3 speed, C6 I think, 2 wheel drive with a 9 inch rear. I want to make it a little more livable and am looking at swapping in a 302/351 out of an EFI truck so I could have the serp accessory drive and put an AOD in it so I'm not turning 3000 revs at 55. I plan on keeping it carb'd for the time being to save a little on changing over the fuel system to EFI and just find a good used carb and intake. I'll need to do the exhaust, but that needs to be done anyway, and I figure a custom length driveshaft will be needed. I will probably just run a floor shifter unless I can rig up the column shifter to work with an AOD. I plan on keeping the AC and figure on having some custom lines made up so the newer compressor will mate up to the older condenser and evaporator. What would be the simplest ignition to run? As far as putting the engine and trans in the truck can i just use the mounts off of a small block truck? Will I have to make a trans mount or is there something simpler or cheaper available? As far as the cooling system goes I figure the bigger alt can handle an electric fan and hopefully the big block radiator can keep up with it, hoses won't be a problem. Will the lighter drivetrain lift the front end? Any other issues you guys can think of? Once I get it to where I can drive it daily I'm gonna lose my car payment and then the real fun can begin.
