What applications have the pump filter canister on top, and those that are on the bottom?

240 & 300 on top, V8's on bottom???

 

240/300 (and etc *) I-6 above, V8 below. The filter and cannister are the same for all.

C3AZ-9355-A .. Cannister / Obsolete / Dozens still available from Ford Dealers/obsolete parts vendors.

C4AZ-9365-B .. Corrogated Paper Fuel Filter (Motorcraft FG-1A) / Available from Ford and autoparts stores.

* Ford used this type of fuel filter for Passenger Cars/trucks beginning in 1964. Some used it thru 1977.

Fuel pumps w/this filter were also available for I-6: 144/170/200/223/250/262's, not just for 240/300's.
