1992 F-150 Removing Pollution Can

I have a 1992 F-150 with the 302 5L and I'm replacing the motor. If i remove all the pollution stuff and just plug the vacuum lines will it cause any problems?

That's what i did to an 89 with the 6 Cyl. Kept the M.A.P. sensor and the electronic sensors ( water, air, knock ). Tossed the E.G.R. and blocked the port. Kept the Cats. Smog pump - gone. Blocked all vacuum lines but the M.A.P. line.

I only have the vapor canister and purge valve working on mine.
I read somewhere that you should keep the vapor canister(black box on right side of engine by frame rail) because there will be no place for the gas vapors from the gas tank to go.It will leak out and make your garage smell like gas and can be a fire hazzard. You should do a search to see if I
am right because I cound be wrong.

When I took off the erg valve and tried the RJM egr eliminator I still got the check engine light on my 1993 302. I still wanted the engine light working to tell me if anything is wrong. I put a RJM egr bock off plate on it and have the egr valve zipped tied on the inner fender out of the way with the vaccum source going to it so the computer thinks it is still working.

On the smog pump just take it off and plug whatever holes are left.
I running a shorter belt for the last 2 years and it only came off once when it was frozen to the pullies. You cound get the smog pump idler bracket from Jegs and the belt will not come off.
Proform 68110 Proform Air Pump Idler Bracket

When you do this make sure you keep the old parts and take notes of where everything goes incase they start doing emissions test in your area.

The whole thermactor(air injection) system can be removed with the exception of the TAB and TAD solenoids beside the coil, they must stay electrically connected. You can plug or remove the vacuum lines between these devices and the control valves however. The EGR can't be eliminated without throwing a code and it helps improve milage a little so you may as well leave it there, but you can insert a blockoff plate between the valve and intake and plug the hole in the lower intake where the tube connects effectively disabling the system, and this won't throw any codes as long as the valve remains electrically connected and the vacuum line between the valve and EVR solenoid(by the coil) remains intact. There is no point at all in removing the vapor canister as mentioned above, the fuel tanks have to vent somewhere so it may as well be into the engine where the gases can be used to move the vehicle.
