Nice job Sarge. I hadn't seen this thread before today. I'm going to have to breakdown and get an EZ-Down for my tailgate. I've seen that in some of the sigs on here. Have you got a link to a thread or can you tell me the part #s, etc.?

John, I found the thread for you for the EZ down install.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1010432-ez-down-tailgate-assist-15.html
It’s a crazy long thread that is confusing to say the least so here is what you need to know. There were two different part numbers, the part number for our year trucks doesn’t work well and you need to remove the tailgate rubber bumper to allow the EZ down piston to clear. However, if you buy part number (SG304901EX) made by Stabilus it works great. I bought mine at O'Reilly's auto parts. The lower bracket has to be modified slightly with a file and oblonging the lower mounting hole. I installed mine in 15 minutes…..to include the modifications I just listed. If after you buy the EZ down and have questions please let me know and I will send you pictures. Hope that helps… Take care,Mike

Could you run back out and check to see if it is constant diameter the entire length?

Thanks!

I want at least 30 days to hold this title! Just kidding….enjoy the pictures and get to ordering!

NOTE: The "Bar-Stabilizer" comes with the rubber bushings already installed on it, so don't try to order them. Order exactly what is shown on list above. See pictures below for reference.

Hole on frame where the Link attaches to.

Stabilizer attaching to lower Link

Retainer attaching stabilizer to lower shock mount. (Mount already on truck)

Stabilizer bar installed....back view.

Stabilizer bar installed....front view.

To install the nut on the upper Link (Driver's side of truck), you need to lower spare tire to gain access to it.

Then reach over the top of the Urea tank and tighten nut. I used a 18mm ratchet wrench and a "Stubby" 18 mm wrench to get the nut tight. It takes some patience since you can't turn the wrench very much at a time...but its worth it!

Install complete....my rear end it SOOOOO tight it hurts!
Geeze...I was about to ask Sarge why he put his Rancho shocks back on, when I thought he just posted that he had upgraded to Bilstein's until I looked at his original post...... But looks like he's "Good to Go!" as Sarge would say.....

So sounds like if I change my blocks in my Dually from the 2" to a 4" like the srws have then should I also change parts on my sway bar if I want it to be perfect? Good info here in this post - thats why you ask stuff here first before attempting to talk to the parts counter guys

I don't know if the 2011/12 F-250 and F-350 take the same anti-sway bar or not but they used to be different diameters with the one from the F-350 being about 2x the diameter of the F-250 bar.
Sarge, when you ordered parts, did you find that the 350 and 250 take the same bar?

Bob, I am sorry I don't know if the sway bar would fit a F250. What I would do is go look at a F250 with the camper package at a local dealership and see if its the same part number. That is what I did for my truck..but I was looking at a F350 that was for sale at my dealership. If you look at my photo that shows the rear swaybar, you will see a small blue and white tag hanging down. That tag has the complete part number on it. This tag came with the sway bar I ordered AND was on the truck that I referenced at the dealership as well. Mike

Those Bilsteins still "good to go" Sarge? Are those the ones you have to have nitrogen adjusted or filled in? Guess Im leaning at putting in Rancho 9000s in this spring, just wondering if you could tell me why you went with Bilsteins over Ranchos....I just have stockers in right now, so I know either one will be a major improvement.

Thanks Sarge...

Chris

Chris, Yeah, I still love the Bilstein shocks. They are nitrogen filled and are self-adjusting. I was so disgusted with my stock Rancho shocks that I just went with a brand of shocks that never let me down. I don't know if you saw the last comments on the thread below. A Rancho rep. chimed in and said they are aware that the Rancho shocks that are our trucks are worth $40. No way I would put Rancho shocks on anything I own. Take Care, Mike

Big-Sarge,
Did you consider other sway bars, I noticed the Ford part has a 5/8ths diameter. I found one made by Hellwig "Hellwig Big Wig Rear Sway Bar with 1-1/2 inch diameter"
they have pics at the following website:
http://www.truckspring.com/Images/Sw...ig-wig-lrg.jpg

http://www.truckspring.com/Images/Sw...-installed.jpg
Do you see any issues with that product, price is about the same,,,probably less (no
taxes)
