What's the best way to get a deal on a new F150?

I've been looking around for a 2011 FX4 with everything but the Nav system. None of my dealers in the area are wanting to come off the price much. What is a good deal on a 45K truck? I was thinking 8K to 10K off should not be that hard to do..

Would it be better to wait a couple more months when the 2012's start coming out?

You should be able to negotiate a deal right around invoice without even breaking a sweat.

We are bargaining for a 2011 F-150, 4x4 SC, 6.5' bed, EcoBoost, 3.73, max tow pkg, XLT conv and chrome. Current offer is 18.5% off the MSRP of $38K with a trade-in. My wife will get a deeper discount.

You can get $4K in rebates and go from there. Go for $38K or less.

Funny thing is my local dealer is doing 25% off on XLT's. I don't want a XLT. I want a FX4 that cost about 8K more.. You would think I could get the same deal on a more expensive truck..

not if they don't have as many FX4's. Maybe their margin is much great on XLT's hense the bigger discount. I think the XLT's are be far the most popular model on the lot.

There are major mark ups on big sellers like the F 150, so there's room to deal. I bought my 2010 FX4 with Nav and luxury interior package and all for 39,xxx, stickered for over 47k. That's as low as they were willing to go. These trucks cost as much as Lincolns!

The funny thing is, unless one just hates chrome, a nice Lariat can be equipped like an FX4 with black leather and all.

The FX4's around here sell like tacos.

I ordered a FX4, 5.0, Crew Cab, 6.5' Box, Luxury Package, roof, Sony radio (no nav), side step bars, 20's, trailer brake control and i got hooked up i feel. $41.5 before any incentives. Xplan pricing on it was 41800 but to sway my business we didn't use xplan and he dropped it 300 under. I'm in the PA area... I can make him give you the same deal if your close

I pitted 4 internet sales managers against one another and told them when I was going to purchase at the end of two weeks. I told each of them what I wanted for options and the wheeling and dealing commenced. After the bargaining was all done, I bought my current truck for $1000 under invoice with every option I wanted plus satellite radio. The starting price before trade in and rebates was $35K. MSRP on the truck was $39K. Also have 2-3 colors you could live with...

Also - If you are trading in another vehicle, bring your vehicle in for evaluation at the end of the month. Dealers are desperate to make their numbers by the end of each month and will give you the best deal on your trade in.

Lastly, be willing to travel to around a 100 mile radius of your home. I live in Milwaukee, but ended up buying my truck in Madison.

Good Luck!

I was emailing a dealer in Texas that's on Ebay. And I live in NC. So I don't mind traveling to get what I want. It helps that I have two free airline tickets from Southwest..

I like the Black trim on the FX4. I think it looks awesome on the Silver. And I'm hoping this is the last truck I buy for a long while. So I want to get what I want. Not what they have..

I guess I'll just wait them out some. The 2012 will start coming out in a couple months. They might be able to work a better deal then.. And I can have more of my truck now paid off..

So I'm still looking for my truck.

I've been emailing a couple dealers. And no one wants to talk any price with out me being there. This is crazy. I had one dealer told me he would order the truck I wanted and give me "Fleet Price" on it. But then could not tell me what that was.. Another one about a hour away can only give me a price if I come in.

What happend to the days of we can take 9K off or 20%? And have the deal done before you show up. I'm thinking I should wait a couple more months. With gas prices and truck sales down, they are going to want to move there invertory soon..

When I bought my 2010 F150 Lariat last April, I paid invoice less 30%, just like they had advertised in the paper. It was the same discount for any they had in stock, not including Harley or Platinum models. It must have been a good price, no other dealer would match it ...

The dealer can't sell you a car over the phone no less than you can buy one without being present. Unless you belong to a buying plan you're going to have to put in the leg work and negotiate the old fashioned way. It's fun and it will be worth your time.

I would not even think about buying a vehicle like this. I ordered my truck and before I even considered signing any papers, the truck was driven and taken to a parking lot away from the dealer so I could do my own inspection.
