So i am torn. Just bought this 89, 5.8, crew cab, long bed, 4x4, f350 on 35's that is a beast but runs like it hasn't had a tune up in a decade. Problem being that the drivers manifold is cracked and since it has individual air ports for each cylinder the replacement headers are crazy expensive versus removal of the emissions system. i think with a good tune up and some maintenance the old girl will run just fine but who wants, 'just fine'? should i bite the bullet and buy the shorty correct headers and keep all my emissions in tact or slap some long tubes on her and go to yanking all that stuff off? mind you there are no inspections in kansas and all mods are fair game!
