Two summers ago I was parking my old pickup at a local farmers market, letting them sell fruits and vegetables out of the back end.
They were paying me $100 a weekend and were happy to do it as it was a big attraction. I enjoyed it for a while sitting around, letting kids (of all ages) sit in the seat, getting their pictures taken by mom and dad. Pushing the starter button and hearing it start up was a BIG bonus!
It became too much for me so I got to taking it there on Sat morning and picking it up on Sunday evenings. It finally became a bit more than I wanted to commit to. I may do it for a few weekends this year, as the market is more than willing, but not every weekend...slim

I had read this thread four times and don't really know how nicolle and I do it...i can say I try to use as much salvage and used parts as possible, lot of fabrication of my own. We don't have enough money for much extra after the bills get paid (I call the checking account "THE ETERNAL VACUUM CLEANER" put money in and its gone) I could probably buy stuff and fix it up and sell for profits but I always want to keep them!

I worked for a large insurance company for 29 years and retired as a Computer Systems Analyst in 1994, so I've been retired for 16+ years. I live on a small pension and Social Security so any money for my truck comes from that. I try to sell off any extra parts I have and that helps generate a little income for the truck. I do all my own work except paint and upholstery...

Well I guess I have it pretty good, the misses gives me an allowance now that I'm retired to work on my truck.
All I did was suggest that I should sell my truck because of the cost or I should go back to work to pay for this money pit hobby of mine, she then developed the TRUCK FUND! She wanted me out of here hair but not working.
I did buy most of the bigger parts while I was still working so the account can now pay for the frills, which I'm sure there will be lots!

Teachin the youths...High School Physics, Engineering and CAD drafting. I do a little rendering side work for Architects during the year and I bang nails over the summers. The twins eat up most of the spare cash, but $20 here and there goes into the spare change jar for parts. Luckily I was able to buy a runner so the really big expensive stuff isn't needed (at least not yet?!).
BTW, Nice bikes! I should look into that! Probably end up keeping them and creating another money pit!
Best to all
