Lost Title

I'm looking at an old Econoline Pickup in a salvage yard. They are having a problem locating the title. They know the family that it came from however the owner may have passed, What have you guys done to get titles in NJ? Thanks Joe __________________

in NJ, you need to get the title from DMV. NJ will not accept a title from one of the southern state "title mills" anymore.
if the yard can not find the title, they can try to get an abandoned vehicle title from trenton.
