Need some help...truck randomly not starting
Not an emergency because my truck starts fine most of the time, and I've got my ghetto key (screwdriver) to pop the terminals of what I think is the starter solenoid, but here's what happens...
I can go a week and the truck starts fine, and then 3 times in a row I can turn the key and *silence*. With the key still on, I can connect the two terminals of the starter solenoid (I think that's what it is...it's high up on the passenger fender if that helps) and it'll start right up. I changed the solenoid, but that didn't help. What else could it be? Not only is it a PITA to get out and start my truck with a screwdriver, but I worry that I'm overlooking an issue that could get worse. Anyone? TYIA

What tranny? if its an auto I would look towards a range selector switch being out of adjustment or going bad. If its a auto, can you put the selector in neutral and will it start?
If its a standard, might be a neutral safety switch or clutch override switch.
Give us a little more info please
