I think you need to slow down. You need to build the truck to be able to handle that power, the suspension to get you down the strip, and all the safety equipment.

An engine like that is going to set you back several thousand dollars. I think this will be another one of those ideas that never happens.

I personally would go turbo 408.

But im guessing this is just a dream because before you were asking how to get more power out of a 5.0 and now your going to build a stroked 460??

The best one , would be a reg cab shot bed , the less weight the less HP you need to get the results , with a light truck you can stroke the 302 to a 347 , that with some nice alum heads and cam you can get in to the 12s , but you need some suspension and rear end work , gears , traction controll , the truck needs to be stable at 100 + mph...Lew

You can do any thing you want , just need the time and money , and yes i do understand what your talking about , you just need a good game plan , theres a ton of things that add up real fast , but in the end its worth it to have something fun and different....

Go diesel with a F250/350 and you will get those numbers a heck of alot easier.

Well to get a big truck into the 10sec range is going to be a big job , need a cage and all kinds of stuff , won't be streetable , theres a big difference from a 12 sec street truck and a full race 10sec truck , so thats what you need to decide , fun street truck , or trailer race truck , even with a 12 sec street truck , don't plan on using it like a truck , it just won't work ...

Cheap and fast never go in the same sentence. Please dont take this negatively but you need to learn to walk before you can run. Its take s alot of work to get a heavy F150 in the 10's. Spend some time at 460ford.com and read up a bit.
