In my truck the switch only controls the light (reading light) on that side. Both switches on gets you both side lights but not the center light.

What Chase is saying sounds right too. You should have one wire that is hot all the time (for the reading lights) and one that is switched through the door switches and headlight ****.

If I turn the light on with one switch, the center light and the light on the side of the switch comes on, they are dim like this. If I turn both switches on, its just the center and its bright. If what ur saying about the wires is right Chase maybe this is my problem, My light is only held in by 2 screws and those are the ones that thread through the connectors. Maybe it's working, but its not grounded out, Im not quite sure, but if it wasn't grounded... it should even work... right?

That's got to be the problem. The light grounds through the screws that hold it to the roof. It is feeding the ground back through the wiring since it doesn't have one at the light. Put a couple more screws in it and I bet it works as it should.

It should. Take one out so you can match them up as close as possible.
