Crank pulley question??????

I'm putting underdrives on the 5.0 and before I get started I thought I'd ask this question.

Are the threads reverse on the crank pulley?

Well I didn't get them off. I'm either going to have to get a much shorter impact wrench or pull my radiator to get the pulley off.

Any tips 86F150302?

That sounds a little on the dangerous side. I don't have a ratchet that long either. I guess I could use a piece of pipe for a breaker bar.

Its safer with a ratchet than a breaker bar in case it kicks back the ratchet will just spin. I've done it countless times and havent broken any car or body parts yet! Use a cheater pipe on a ratchet like you were saying.

Do you get under it and hold the ratchet in place and have someone bump the starter?

if you have a remote starter switch then that works best , what ever you do pull the coil wire off so it wont start ! and if you hold the ratchet hold it with a open hand !

I hold it and have someone bump it when I can so it doesnt kisck off and hit the rad or something. If theres no one around to help I try to prop it up against something.

I guess I'll give it a shot. I'll probably trip the roll over relay to shut off the fuel to keep it from running.

just pll the coil wire, killing the fuel pump might let it run for a split second with residual pressure in the lines.
