I need to get new sockets for my reverse lights. Whoever has my 79 F150 before me did suck damage to the wiring harness I had to rewire it! Just wondering what years I can pirate some reverse light sockets at the junkyard?

 

They're cheap, why not just buy new... Rear Backup Light Socket

 

I actually did.... They are metal and fiberglass.... And I that is what I am running..... But the don't seem to be all that good..... Seal wise compared to the new ones that I got that were exaxt to stock for the brake lights..... Since this short seems to be wet weather related... I think it probably is in those sockets somewhere....

Everything else is in order and works when dry

 

1974 F100/350 Stylesides from serial number T80,001 / 1975/79 F100/350 Stylesides / 1975/91 Econoline / 1978/79 Bronco use the same taillamps and sockets.

The Bronco/Econoline lamps come w/a foam rubber seal that can be peeled off / The sockets are plastic, twist into the taillamps.
