My 2wd made it through two nasty blizzards this winter. The first one dumped 13 inches of snow between 10pm and 4am. The wind made some of the biggest snow drifts I have ever seen and I have been in Michigan for almost nine years. The plows didn't start plowing until several hours after I got to work. I left for work at about 5am and made it in to work early. I left work on time(the roads were still Shi***) and the truck got me home in one piece. That was after stopping at Lowes and Home Depot, which are not really on my way home.
I did end up with snow in my air intake and I got stuck pulling into my driveway. BUT, my two wheel drive, loaded down with heavy snow in the back pushed right through the snow.
It was actually a fun drive in, with all of the fish tailing and intentional sliding I was doing.
I used to run a full size 2wd in the snow/ice with about 300 lbs at the tailgate, and it did great. My 2wd ranger is almost useless in the snow though...pretty sad
