The C6 (17 trans pan bolt holes) was first offered as an option in F100/150 302's in 1978.

A little Progress, finished building the 302. I'll be slapping the accessories and headers on it throughout the week. Just got the C6 back from my trans builder and threw some paint on it. I'll hopefully have the engine bay finished this week as well and maybe get the motor/trans mated and thrown in over the weekend.

Oh Yeah, also got a Title Notification in the Mail with a New Title, guess they had a mess up. It's now Titled as a 1979, so I don't guess it's a Frankenstein after all.

Nice looking projects~! Congrats on 2nd place. I don't know what state you are in but I would be concerned with the many variations of the vin on your title.

Did you have paper work that matched the numbers on the cab? I would get it straight and correct. Maybe they went with the plate number?

I'm in Oklahoma, the issue was I had a door vin plate that had been screwed on the firewall so I went of of it thinking it was factory. We'll it wasn't and it came up as a 76. Found the original vin plate behind the seat under some tools. Call the tag office and told them what I found and brought it down. Apparently the first vin was no longer is service so I guess salvage, the second vin plate coded out to a 79 and I said that it had to be it based on all the very helpful replies I got on here. So she ran it and It all worked out, got a clean title for a 79 Ford Pickup. Now I just want to drive it!!!!

Interesting!!!! My folks were from Wanette, below Tulsa. Went back there 3yrs ago. Beautiful country but I'll take earthquakes over wind storms.

My 78 F250 has a plastic vin decal on the door frame and a metal vin tag in the lower drivers side dash. My 74 F100 has a similar decal but the metal plate is riveted to the drivers door. The door location has always seemed odd to me as doors get replaced all the time...

Be looking forward to finished pic's! You'll be on the road soon!!!!!!

Little Progress, winter decided to finally hit and since this truck is an outside project, I had to wait for some warmer weather. Have to keep the finished projects in the garage.

Bolted everything together and got the headers wrapped. Got everything dropped in and bolted up so far. Looks nice and clean. Waiting on the rain and wind to die down a little this week so I can run the new fuel line and get everything wired up!
