Low Range Dash Light On

Today my low range dash light came on and stays on. I haven't used 4wd. The 4x4 light is off. I shifted to 4x4 and both lights came on. I disengaged 4x4and the 4x4 light went off but the low range light is still on. I don't want to be driving 55 in 4wd! Anyone experience this and what did you do to fix? It is a C6 3spd manual on the floor. Thanks!

Have you tried if the transfer is actually in low gears? it could be just a dash light gone crazy or a short.

You would know immediately if the t-case had actually slipped into low range. There is no mistaking it. You would rev the engine into oblivion just trying to get to 35 MPH in low range. I'd bet on a short in the indicator or the harness.
