The bumper on the front of mine was what I would call totaled! It was knocked into gear pulling a lawn trailer and hit a concrete base for the tall lights in a parkinglot! It hit square in the middle and amazingly there was no damage to anything but the bumper! Heck, you couldn't even pass a toothpick between the uprights and the grill. This was how I bought the truck for so cheap. I rebuilt it only reusing the outer wings and the pipe that wraps around the headlights. The uprights, frame brackets, center pipe, and hitch where all welded in by me! Powder coated by the shop I work at!

Well, I went downstairs and cranked up the truck EARLY one morning to warm it up. While I was upstairs getting the kids ready, etc - I hear the truck get quieter. Since it has a straight pipe, 1200 rpm's and EBPV closed tends to make a racket... Anyway, I walk over to the window with that sick feeling in my stomach and look at where it was. I then look down the hill where it ended up. It hit a small tree just outside the passenger frame horn. The tube part of the Ranchhand crushed like a beer can and tore open allowing the bars to hit the passenger fender. Overall, ALOT less damage than if the factory bumper was there - but the bumper was a complete loss and I also needed a new fender, header panel, grill and headlight(s).

Thats my story anyway!!
OUCH! that sux, I bet that tree was asking himself what he did wrong, Auto tranny or manual? slip out of gear? bad parking brake? I better check my parking brake.......

manual trans - lets just say the parking brake is much more effective now...

If it would have rolled 2 ft to the left, there would have been no damage - but what lesson would I have learned from THAT!!

Was searching google for images of bumpers. Stumbled on this at the first line of results. Must say it's a good looking truck... better looking painted.

$600 for a road armor is a reasonable price. When I built my bumper I had

$200-Materials
$350-wiring/solenoid/switches
$250-Line-X coat
$400-Lights
_____________
$1200 right there...
