Got a vibration

Hey. Picked up an old beater for my son to drive.
A '91 F150 4X4 with an auto & 302. I've put new wheels & tires on it and it drives pretty good, but I have a vibration at highway speed.
U-joints? Something else?

Also, would it be a waste of $ to put some headers on an engine with 125K on it?

were the wheels and tires balanced?
Check the motor mounts, tranny mount, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to just go ahead and replace the u-joins anyways since they're cheap.

As for the headers, no its not a bad idea, but will it work with the existing exhaust routing?

Thanks,
I think if my wheels were out of balance, I'd get shaking in the steering wheel which I don't have. Plus it was all new, with an alignment, to the tune of about $1400 bux.
I never thought about mounts. I'll give them a look.
Are u-joints as easy to replace as they look?

Dont forget to check your shocks. loose shocks will exaggerate a wheel vibration.

Thanks GG420,
I changed them last weekend. But come to think of it, I haven't really drove it since the R & R. Have to check.

I had a vibration at highway speeds and it drove me insane because it felt like it was riht underneith me. Come to find out it was my tranny mount cracked.

And yes, with a few simple tools, you can change your u=joints in less than 45 min., if you need it, i can guide you through how to do it with basic tools

Again, Thanks.
U-joints R&R looks pretty straight forward. Unless there is something that's not obvious, it doesn't look any harder than replacing shocks or doing brakes.
