Where is serial # on 1946 or 47 half ton pick up?

Question Where is serial # on 1946 or 47 half ton pick up?

Where would I find the serial number on a 1946/1947 half ton truck?

My 47 1-ton has the serial number stamped on the L/H frame rail in engine compartment. I had to do a lot of cleaning of the rail to get it to show up but once cleaned there it was.

mine is on top of left hand side rail just before it curves down it's not punched it to well so might be hard to locate
