New tire size

I have an 02 4x4 250. I am going to need to buy tires soon. I know there is a rubbing issue with the front leaf springs above a certain size. What size is it? My truck now has the OEM size 265/75/16. The last 250 I had (might have had 350 blocks) had 285/75/16 with no rubbing issues and I liked the higher stance of the truck.
I have found a killer deal on a tire/wheel combo. The tires are Nitto Terra Grapplers in 315/75/16. Should I even waste my time?

Also, what is the bolt pattern for the SD wheels?

A buddy of mine ran 295's on his and when he turned all the way the tires would hit the leaf springs, the only ways I can think of fixing it is to either space the wheels out a tad bit or do a mild lift, or if it doesnt bother you like it doesnt him, just leave em be, I just stick with the stock 265's, to each his own

285/75/16 is most likely your best bet. 315/75/16 is the same as 35s. That's not happening on stock suspension without rubbing. 305/70/16 is similar in height to the 285 just wider. I've heard of people running those with no issues.

Depends on the wheel offset. If it is a killer deal, I say buy 'em and try 'em. If it is a problem then you can just do a front level kit.

I run 305/70R16 on stock mag wheels and have no rubbing on the leaf springs. If I am backing up with the wheels turned all the way it barely rubs the rear of the plastic fender liner.

So, 305/70/16 is the maximum size? That's what I wanted to know. Now I just need to find some good mud terrains in that size.

Both the 305s and 285s are 33s. 305s just have a wider stance. Yea I'd say 33 is your best bet without a leveling kit.

The 305 70 16 is a 32.8 tall and around 12 wide....that's pretty much the biggest you're going to be able to tuck under there with stock stance....anything wider and you're going to risk hitting....anything taller and its only going to be offered in a wider size anyways to accommodate the extra rubber in the correct load ratings....thats pretty much it unless you want to invest s couple hundred in a spacer leveling kit that allows you to clear 35's.....

Don't know bout an 02 but I just put 35x12.5x20 on my stock 09 250. The only rubbing was on the inside cardboard well which I pulled back an inch to clear.

I'm assuming aftermarket 20" wheels? They're wider and have less backspace, which pushes the tire/wheel out and gives you more clearance room on the tire...
