Really the FTE facebook page? Why is it not legal in canada? I got a buch of crap back in the 90's for going up there in a peterbilt with a spread axle trailer. They let me in but told me to never come back with that trailer again.

Advice

I took a couple of pretty big chances building this. The rolled truck was out of Dallas, and the flooded dually came out of Houston from hurricane Katrina and I live in near Wichita, Kansas. So I bought them both without seeing them in person. Sketchy... If you buy a 4x4 that's hit in the front make sure if the front axle gets pushed back that its not on the pumpkin side. If it is there is a chance the driveline bottoms out and either breaks the transmission or transfer case off of the motor now your talking about droppin some cash to fix it. But I got both trucks and everything turned out good. The burned truck I got to see so that was all good. The other issue I ran into was from what I understand 99-01 PSD trucks are wired the same. Well I put a 1999 cab on a 2002 frame. So I had to completely rewire the truck from headlights to tail lights. including how the computers come through the firewall and the dash. I had to completely gut both trucks to sheet metal and cut the firewall out of the grey 2002 and put it in the hole I cut in the 1999. As I am sure you can imagine it was a nightmare. I had a full time job, single guy that had his daughters 1/2 the time and a full time college student. So just that took almost 3 months. I tried to find the thread I wrote about how to build the truck but had no luck.

im on my 2nd 6 door build.
my last was a 87 F350 IDI,
this time is a 01 F350 short bed DRW.
I ran the main truck before it blew a HG, so all of my wiring is still intact, but I suspect I will need to do some tweaking on the chassis harness.(swapped a 01 F250 on a 02 F350 chassis)
both trucks I used were cali trucks, so they were super nice, and since registration is a mo fo here, I got both for dirt cheap.
I just got the roof done, now time for the floor.
but I used a full crew cab rear half.
these extended trucks are awesome, arnt they!

check out the last few posts on that link, my 2nd roof turned out better than the last.
the first one didn't turn out too bad, and the 2nd was even better.
I made a jig that I welded to the top of the inner roof supports, worked out very very well. but not perfect.

BigHazard, this truck was the inspiration for my Redneck Limousine build, a 2006 6-door F350/F550! Hopefully I'll be able to test drive mine this weekend. Thanks for inspiring me!
