Lots of good parts visable - when you get to that type of vehicle all some resto folks are looking for is the original outline/shape of a piece to start with - glad your only hiccup was the blown tire at slower speed.

Bob,

That car might be better than what you started with. You'll definitely make money back on your purchase after you keep the parts that you need. Don't you feel bad about parting out a semi-rare vehicle in that shape and completeness?

Dick, low speed at 55 mph. My biggest fear at that moment was flipping the trailer and hitting an oncoming car. We were only separated from the oncoming traffic by 3" fiberglass poles. It all happened in two seconds but it's amazing how fast your brain reacts. I forgot to mention once back on the road we turned off the interstate and continued on a two lane county highways. At about 9:00 I saw something moving ahead and my kid starts saying, "Deer!, deer!". Two does decided it was a good place to cross the highway. In about 2 seconds I had to decide whether to veer around them, going into the opposite lane and take a chance of flipping the whole rig or hit them head on and cause a bunch of damage to my truck. Luckily I was able to slow the truck and trailer enough to avoid them. We came within inches of hitting them. Good thing I have good brakes on my truck and good dual axle brakes on my trailer.

Ilya, the car is in pretty bad shape body and frame wise. I haven't be able to access it completely but I think the floor is pretty much toast and when they lifted the front end to load it I could see the frame was rotted out from sitting on the ground, just like my first Buick. The fenders however, look pretty good. A little rust out on the bottom edges on the fronts but otherwise very solid and straight. The engine looks complete and in pretty good outward physical condition, maybe I can get it pop over. The few parts I wanted are in very good condition. I am sure I'll be able to cover my expenses when I part it out.

threard back from the dead.

I know I am bring this back I said I would clearify my health position. Well here it is:

Good right now the cancer in my liver is the least of my problems

Bad We think a lymph node has enlarged and partically blocked my bile duct. The are going to put in a drain... Oh Yum. Once all has drained and my numbers are down we go on to the ugly.

Ugly I then start full body chemo like last year late and the first of this year. it is hell but it works so what choices are there?

So in a nut shell there it is. So no I won't be able to go get my fenders in SC at least untill the fall at the earlyest.

Is it possible with all the summer travel the FTE brotherhood could form a parts relay for Jim? I wish I was located somewhere along the route, I'd help in a minute. Where in SC are the fenders? Maybe some one is in the area and will be traveling west and could bring them a little closer.

Take car Jim, glad to hear you have an optimistic outlook, that's half the battle. Keep up the fight, we're here for you.

That is a kind offer. They are located in Gaston, SC. This is just east of Columbia.

Jim,

I started a new thread to try to help you out, I'm sure you've probably already seen it. Hope you don't mind but I figure we should help out when we can.
