I just wish I had more money and time so spend on it. (Don't tell my wife though.)

I travelled from Downunder to Modesto near San francisco and Pomona in LA to buy and ship home my COE and 56 panel, so road trips can be quite an adventure at times.LOL John

Bob I'm disapointed in ya, you could have at least photoshoped a 51 COE with a load of kangaroos in the water or something....

My 19 year old son Zack & I drove down to Houston & back this morning to pick up an S10 seat for our 1950 F1. He's off for two weeks between semesters & it was nice to just shoot the breeze & catch up doing something we both like to do - work on the truck together. It was 6 hours round trip from Austin - a really nice way to spend a Sunday.

Bob,

You think that finding parts for a 37 Buick is tough?! Try finding parts for a 37 Airflow or any Airflor for that matter.

You never know when the next Buick will appear with the parts that you need. BID, BID, BID!!! It's only money.

Well, it looks like my final bid might be holding but you never know, there might be crazier person than me willing to pay more for the pile of junk. I know I've probably over bid on it but I still think I can take the parts I need, sell what I can and still break even. If not I'll consider it the cost of restoration. My wife might not agree but what the heck, a guy has to get into trouble once in a while so his wife will appreciate the times he isn't.

Hey Ilya, big talk,"It's only money", did you get the other panel? Just tell her "It's only money"

Remember the snipers. I know you're not talking about fleabay. But still don't forget about the people who don't even consider bidding until the last 5 seconds. And I agree with the ones above who said can you afford NOT to get it?

She was actually up for it and didn't mind since the other 51 would go. Although she did mention something about possibly using the old 51 to advertise her business.

However, when I spoke with the seller, I didn't get a good vibe from him. There's also rust in the roof that's been improperly repaired and he won't budge much from his selling price (only a few hundred $$$ off). So, I think I'd rather sink a few thousand $$ into fixing the old 51, than buying someone else problems again.

MD,

I've got my max bid, if some one snipes at the very end then it will prove I'm not the nuttiest person bidding. I over bid, I'm sure, but I want the few hard to get parts. I only hope they are there when/if I go to pick it up. The first chance to pick up the items is tomorrow but I can't go until Wednesday. I know parts can walk away, I'm sure there isn't any security provided.

Ilya,

I thought there may be some issues with the panel. It looked like a primer job to hide problems. Good thing you were able to look at in person and see the questionable parts, some people are foolish and bid on things without seeing them first hand

Hellfirejim, when are you going to S.C., I'm probably close to 1/2 way so maybe we could meet somewhere or plan on a stop-over and save a motel bill, Garry

Garry,

That really sounds like it would be fine. I have to tell you that most likely i will have my ranger as there is no place to carry parts on the 50.

I can give you a better idea of when once I see the doc at the end of the month. I may have to go back on chemo for a few months and then I can travel.
