Not all passenger visors have that mirror.

I had the same problem with my visors for a number of years, Last year I found two nicer visors from a newer year and attempted that conversion myself. I got the visors and all the associated hardware at a local junkyard for a very reasonable price. I used the same screws and hardware that I pulled from the donor vehicle. I cleaned everything, and installed it in my truck. At first I was hesitant about drilling in my metal ceiling. But after having done this... upgrade, I find it to be one of the more worthwhile improvements that I have done.

The upgraded visors look really good! Pictures always help. It sounds like the newer visors are the way to go.

I noticed the 1970s models had the end clips, and the 1987 and up used the end clips too. I wonder why Ford decided not to use the end clips for the 1980-1986 trucks?

Thanks guys, I just got a set of visors from a 94 or 95 last week. I did notice that the newer cab had an offset for the clip built into the roof (hid by trim/headliner). I am planning to install the headliner and associated trim from the jy excursion, most likely will use a home made spacer to mount clip at proper offset off roof.

Cheap sun visor fix

Here is how I fixed my 86 F150 sun visors cheaply! I started out with a set of 1 1/2" Stanley corner braces I had laying around. I bent them to the shape that would slip under the overhead trim and would allow me to set the visor between it and the top. I super glued a round magnet into the fold of the visor about 3/4 of the way in, leaving just enough sticking out to have good contact with the brace. I super glued another magnet on the under side of the bracket, where it would come in contact with the magnet in the visor when I was using the visor to block the sun. This may seem like a hillbilly way of fixing the problem, but.... I am one.

That's not hillbilly at all.

I used a hammer and nail to make the hole for the clips for my later model visors I installed, since I didn't have a drill. I broke off the little locator tabs on the back side of the clips so they'd sit flush and I wouldn't have to hammer two more holes that may or may not be in the right spot.

Now -that- is hillbilly. haha

Hears my story. Visors would not stay up or keep from swing out. Bought new rods and visors from lmc. Visor and rod moved outward hitting me in the head. Took off and beat swivle area tight. works good so far. Visor would not stay up on rod. Removed visor and installed in the length of the hole on visor one or two pieces [as needed] small welding rod wire. slid back on rod with wire in it [carefully]. Been working for two years so I must have done something right. Had to get a strong man to remove old visor as it was kinda rusted inside
