1996 F250 fuel issues
My 96 F250 has a tendency to sputter and lurch, and or die when running the front tank. "Seems" worse when I'm running over a rough road if that makes any sense. Sometimes I switch over to the rear tank, which runs fine, then after a little while I can switch back to the front and it'll be fine.
I can clearly hear a "whir" sound of the rear fuel pump when I have it on the rear tank and turn the key to on. However; when I try this with the front I hear what "sounds" to me like weaker "errr" sound. I have a feeling my front fuel pump is going bad. But: just to be sure Im going to try Heat and other fuel additives to see if its water or some booger in the line somewhere.
Any other ideas of what it might be? If it is the fuel pump would it be OK to just replace the front one?

Yes you can replace just the front tank.
