Only Idles No Acceleration
Help, I have a 2002 7.3L diesel that will not accelerate. It will idle all day. I have replaced the throttle pedal twice and am still having the same issue. I'm hoping someone can give me some information on the throttle schematics so I can diagnose the electrical system for the throttle pedal.

I was thinking more like Fuse #19. I had this problem about a year ago and it freaked me out. I finally found the fuse blown and all is well. All I had done was install a new stereo. Just plug n play so I thought I had really hosed something up.

Your accelerator pedal is bad. The IVS (Idle Validation Switch) is probably not shutting off, or the potentiometer in the pedal went bad.
Hopefully you do not have adjustable pedals as the pedal assy. can be expensive for those.
Here is a video of the interaction between the IVS (lower screen) and the throttle pedal as I slowly apply throttle to full and then back to idle.

To All,
I have replaced the Acc. pedal for the 4th time and the problem still keeps coming back. This pedal lasted 1 week. I have not blown any fuses and the truck runs good except for no acceleration when this happens. I have checked the voltage at the IVS and there is 12 volts when not running and 14 volts when running. There is only voltage on 1 side when the pedal is pressed or not pressed. I have installed a bypass circuit when I replaced the last pedal (Tired of being stranded). When the truck stopped accelerating this time I put my bypass switch in drove away. As far as I can tell the IVS switch is either on or off . Anyone have any suggestions on why the switch is always going out ? It seems unlikely that I would purchase 4 bad accelerators in a row. Right now I am driving the truck with the IVS bypass circuit that I have installed.
