Post mass air conversion kits

i own a nice 94 ford lightning not mass air. They sell a mass conversion kit as we all know. Has any one converted there first generation lightning to mass air...And if did was it worth the thousand dollars?

if it's stock, the mass air will lose HP. The only reason you need mass air is it is more versatile. If you swap in a cam with lots of duration, heads, or something major that affects airflow, it is useful. With heads, intake, exhaust, mild cam, you can still get a chip tuned that will fix everything right. With big cam, I'm not sure. I know if you stick a big cam in a stock speed density, it will surge really bad.

Thumbs up mass air conversion kits

I drive a 93' lightning with (Pro-Flo) mass air. Changes to the motor involved Edelbrock performer heads, flex-a-lite fan, K&N filter, compucam, roller rockers all from 5.o mustang with taller valve covers (from 5.o mustang), flow masters/right side nascar style, tires are nt/450's, chip, Taylor 9mm wires, bosch plugs, pullys and amsoil synthetic in the crank case and tranny. My 93' hauls ***. I haven't had it at the strip yet, expect to this summer.
