Can you check fuel presure somehow? Even if you have to put a scredriver into the fitting to release the presure, and then listen to the pump. You might find that you should be chasing spark, if so, I would go after the CPS.
They did have then on cars and trucks. It worked with the oil pressure switch. big trouble with them., always messing up so they stoped using most of that type of system.

Well it turns out that the fuse that goes to the PCM was blown, fixed that only to have it blow again. Then after much wire tracing, found a wire that goes to the PCM had rubbed itself into a ground short. Which in turn took the PCM with it. So, new PCM, new fuse, and just because it's fun, a new coil pack for #8, and the thing runs.
