For the shudder on take off, install a set of Roadmasters to sort it out.

http://www.axlewrap.activesuspension.com/

It'll sort out the axel wrap we feel as a shudder on take off.

Ok, let me ask this question. Has anyone had this problem with a 2012? I am considering getting a 12 screw eco 4x4 w/ max tow. I have read every post. I didn't see one 2012 with this problem. Did Ford resolve this with the 2012 model year?

I'm also interested in 2012 feedback, as I'm about to order a new Screw 4x4 Eco HD.

2012

2011 with vibration

2012 without vibration.

Before signing the contract I have required the seller to make a road test (vibration test) I did.
I asked to have the truck as long as necessary.

With all the testimony, evidence of vibration on the two main forums you can require .

It is extremely rare to find a short box that shudders at takeoff, however I have heard of 2012 Screw's with the same shudder problem, in fact the problem has existed for at least 3 model years from what I understand

As I had mentioned in an earlier post my neighbor has an 11 FX4 Screw and he claims that his does not shudder.........go figure. Everyone's driving habits are different and some folks may be more sensitive to others when it comes to picking up ride sensitivities etc. This may be due to what they were driving previous to the Screw. Let's face it if you were driving a noisy bumpy piece of crap before owning a Screw you would think that driving the Screw was comparable to driving a Lincoln!

I am sure that's true, it's all relative.
I had a vibration coming from the front diff in my Tacoma after leveling. I met a guy on a forum who INSISTED he did not have that problem. He lived in the same area as me, and we met in person. Sure enough, vibe was there on his truck also, even more than on mine. He noticed it also after I showed him. He was not really happy about that, LOL.

I should have mentioned in my earlier posts that I am referring to the 6.5' box owning the shudder problem. I have a Red Candy 2011 F-150 4X4 157" wheelbase 5.0 with XTR Package

There have been some that claim that the after market Roadmaster Active Springs solves the shudder issue by eliminating axle wrap and wheel hop. I have not installed them, but have considered the idea, although they are $350-$400 for a pair.

I was the first on this board to post that I installed a set of Roadmaster Active Suspension.
It did reduce the shudder quite substantially but did not eliminate it totally. The truck handles better in the corners as well especially under load as there is less spring deflection during weight shift if carrying cargo.

I would think the roadmasters are only masking the problem, all of these trucks have the same springs, so if it is spring wrap they should all have it reguardless of cab or bed config. This has to be a drive shaft / wheel base issue. Just a thought!
Does anyone with a supercab and 8 ft bed have this issue? Should be the same wheel base as a screw with a 6.5 bed.

The HD payload springs seems to be another solution.
I get a little bit of the shudder with extreme loads only, but even then not as much I think as what people described here. I am talking about 2K lbs loads, and even then it does not shudder when I take it very easy on the throttle until 5 mph.
I have absolutely no shudder unloaded or with light loads. I had 12 40lbs bags of top soil in my bed yesterday and 3 people, with no shudder.
Considering that stiffer springs seem to help I would think that this is axle wrap. Of course, the ride won't be as smooth with those springs.

Is anyone with a one piece drive-shaft experiencing this problem; or is it confined to just the models with two piece drive-shafts?
