Eureka Chemical's Fluid Film® Named Sponsor of IndyCar® Series Pole Day

November 04, 2009 04:31 PM Eastern Time

SONOMA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Infineon Raceway and Eureka Chemical Company, manufacturer of Fluid Film products, have entered into a two-year relationship naming the South San Francisco-based company as title sponsor of qualifying day at the raceway’s 2010 IndyCar® Series weekend, officials from both companies announced.
Eureka Chemical Company, manufacturer of Fluid Film, a unique solvent-free rust preventative and lubricant, will be the title sponsor of IndyCar Series qualifying on Saturday, Aug. 21, during the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma weekend. The day will be called Fluid Film Pole Day.
"’We are very pleased to join with Infineon Raceway, which confirms the exceptional level of performance Fluid Film products have experienced in so many other industries,” said Anna Stanton, chairman of the board at Eureka Chemical Company.
In addition to the title sponsorship, Eureka Chemical Company will also host a sweepstakes promotion offering a quantity of tickets to auto-part retailers, as well as an extensive signage package and promotional and logo-usage rights.
“We’re delighted to welcome Eureka Chemical Company as a new sponsor for the IndyCar weekend and look forward to the promotional energy they will bring to one of our premier events,” said Steve Page, president and general manager of Infineon Raceway.
This marks the first entry into motor sports for Eureka Chemical Company, which has produced Fluid Film products since the early 1940s. The company continues as a family-owned business in South San Francisco, and is managed by descendants of the founding chemist.
The Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma marks the IndyCar Series’ sixth annual visit to the Sonoma Valley, and its only stop in Northern California in 2010. IndyCar Series champion Dario Franchitti claimed his first Infineon Raceway victory earlier this year.
