manifold to downpipe bolt ?
I've been searching but can't find the answer. How does the exhaust manifold attach to the downpipe. It is a 1985 300 carb'd. I took a quick glance and noticed the previous owner has a C-clamp holding part if it together. Is it just a stud attached to the manifold and a bolt in the downpipe side or can I use a new bolt and nut? Thanks.

If you are asking about how the exhaust attaches to the exhaust manifold then there should be 2 studs that screw into the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe flange goes onto the studs and has a nut on each stud to keep it secure.
If one is missing then the stud is broken off and would have to be removed and a new one installed or a different exhaust manifold would have to be put on.
If you mean something else please post a picture of it.
