gas octane

Hi guys, I have a 250 with a 352. I was just looking over the owners manual and just read that ford recommended "regular" grade fuel that happens to be 94 octane. Im only 25 so I'm not sure about gas from the 60's. What grade is everybody using in their similar trucks?

At $3.75 per gal I'm using the lowest octane stuff...86 or 87 here in Texas. If it bothers you, dump a can of Sea Foam in the tank too every now and then.

Funny stuff...actually the owners manual is probably refering to leaded gas.

I have a 352 rebuilt stock from what I can tell.

It runs just fine with 87.

Just remember, some of the earlier trucks will need a lead additive if hardened valve seats haven't been installed.

The ol truck should run fine on the cheepest 87 on the corner. Fill it up & drive on.

Be careful with fill ups with the temps getting warmer if you aren't gonna drive out 3-4 gallons. Leaving it out in the sun it can expand the gas in the tank and it will run out on the ground.

Parking with the left front tire on the curb or left side high can help. Best just not park it with a full tank o gas.

Didn't the octane ratings system change late 70's or early 80's? Premium use to be listed 108-124 dpending on the brand and now it is 97 everywhere.
