Yesterday about 5 pm Dad left us very peaceably in his sleep . He enjoyed all the time he got to spend with you all ,whether it was sitting talking about cars & trucks or carpentry and campers. He thought it was great to have a bunch of guys come to his place to work on Ford trucks and visit. I will let you all know about the arrangements as soon as I know what they are , this much I do know there will only be a memorial service because thats what dad wanted. It should be held early in the week and it will be in Jacksonville , all of you will be welcome if you can come if you can't , I understand and don't worry about it .
I have been lucky I moved down here to Arkansas 10 years ago and I have been able to spend a lot of that time with my Dad . We worked together side by side doing everything from building houses and buildings ,restoring old trucks and tractors, and being in the trucking business, we were together .Not every man can be a Dad but he was , he was my best friend and my Hero and I will miss him so much .

Dave, I'm very sorry to hear about your father. I didn't know he was sick until yesterday when Jackie told me. Your Dad was always so kind and generous to lend his shop out so we could upgrade my truck. If there is anything you need, let me know. You and your Dad had a great Father and Son relationship.
I'll be there. Might be a bit gamy coming from work......but I'll be there.
Holler if I can help with anything this week.

Dave, I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family in this time of sorrow.
We have lost another gearhead along with so much knowlege of our beloved Ford trucks.
I will be there for you and you know if you need anything, just call.
Thank you all , I really appreciate the thoughts and prayers . Remember my dad whenever you see a slick running down the road , he really loved those trucks.
I know he is with God and I bet he is out in the shop right now spinning wrenches.

I hi-jacked Joe's user name to post a message. I know that your dad will be missed by all the Ford guys. Just remember that your dad is no longer in any pain. There might even be a spiffed up, old, restored Ford up there waiting for him to come take it for a spin.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
