ok so when i got the truck, the power mirrors barely worked. the pass. side worked fully but the drivers only moved up and down. then i took the pass. side off at a carwash one day, and eventually the drivers side just stopped working. so i figured it was the motor or the switch. well i got new tow mirrors last month and they still dont work. so i went to the junkyard and got a new switch. still nothing. all the wiring is good, is there something else i am missing or did i just get another bad switch?

 

Hate to mention it, but did you check the fuses and relays for it? Grounds ok?

 

Sounds like a bum switch.
If you are electrically savvy you may try jumping the harness to move the mirror in order to verify that the problem is in the switch.

 

Yeah, you got another bum switch. I just fixed mine this weekend. Get a very small flathead
screwdriver. Take the switch apart by prying under the four tabs on the switch body.

After you get it apart, use the little flathead to scrape and scratch all of the brass surfaces inside the
switch in every place that makes metal to metal contact. Pay attention to the way the
pieces come out of the switch.

Put it back together and enjoy full range of use from your mirrors.

 

haha, scraped the truck a month or two ago. i miss that thing... mirrors never did work. i ended up taking the switch apart and messsing it up. so i got a JY switch and it still didnt work. oh well.
