Smelling Anti-freeze While Driving
Hey all.
On a 10 mile drive today I noticed something fishy. At about mile 6, I started to smell anti-freeze or coolant (that sickly sweet smell) as I was just cruising down the road. I pulled off to look for leaks, but found nothing. I sat in the same spot idling for about 5 minutes, and nothing dripped onto the ground. So I drove to my destination smelling anti-freeze all the while.
On the drive home, I started smelling it almost instantly, but I just decided to grit my teeth and get through it. It was kind of a brisk night, so I decided to turn the heat on. Instantly, the windows fogged up as a sort of misty steam came through the vents and the smell got intensely worse. I pulled over and checked again for some leaks, but nothing was visible. I'm guessing that I have a minor coolant leak from or near the heater core? Please give me your thoughts. Thanks.
