What parameters are you monitoring?

With the new updates from Edge for my CTS I don't know what to watch on my '04.

I had EOT, ECT, Trans Temp, Voltage, and Boost.

With the update I swaped Trans Temp for FICM voltage but that looks fine.

What are you watching and why??

My CTS is only a week old, but I am currently watching EOT & ECT (mostly because I just did the full Bulletproof kit and wanted to see how it is performing), battery voltage, FICM (just because I was curious- it's at 48v all the time), and corrected speedo (because I have 37" tires and wanted to see the true speed after I input my tire size).

I'm sure this will change over time, but it's what I am watching right now.

The top 5 are eot, ect, fp, boost and egt. I've set alarms for ficm and battery volts also. Here's a good thread

On my Dashdaq I'm monitoring EOT, ECT, Trans temp, Fuel Pressure, Boost, Coolant pressure, and calculating the ECT-EOT. I had to add sensors for the fuel & coolant pressure. Eventually I will add an EGT.

It is great. Not the cheapest, but I was driven by the logging feature. It records to a SD card, which I can then plot on my computer.

I didn't purchase the add on bundle only because I didn't see any codes worth the extra cost. There is a long list on their site.

The DD is ultra cool. The enhanced bundle has a TON of stuff that's more useful than you know that you'll use down the road as your truck starts to get more wear and tear. The SD card will hold something like a years worth of data and the logworks graphing program has HUGE display capability.

Scott: Do you know if there is a way to time stamp a DTC in conjunction with the data logging feature? I'm working with someone on a randomly reoccuring P2290 and I'd like to see when it triggers during the run cycle. It's crazy because the truck runs and pulls like a top.

I haven't seen a way to record the code number, only to record if the MIL is active.

I believe it can record up to 16 parameters. There is an option to record additional parameters to what is actively displayed.

I have never looked into this before but when the truck sets P2290 does it also set the check engine light or is it a code that just sits in the back ground waiting to be scanned? If it actually set the check engine light you could monitor the check engine light PID and data log the entire event. Then go back and look at the data during the time the light turned on. I will look closer at my DD tomorrow or later tonight. It is not with me right now. Do you have the enhanced license or basic Ford bundle (not that it is basic by any means)?

The most I ever logged at the same time was 25.
9 were on the live display and 16 in the global logging. Not trying to poke, just trying to expose its awesome capabilities.

Enhanced bundle. It never sets a CEL. He wouldn't even know it was there if I didn't "prompt" him to check his DTC's more often. I started a thread in the drewtech forum to see if I get a response. The truck owner is now diligently monitoring/logging DTC events and he's captured a few DTC specific events that are very short. So far it's only occured while he's pulling his boat (and not hard pulling). Bismic sent me the specific's of what sets the code and I've found one or two of those events that I'll more closely analyze once I get some coffee down my neck and get a chance to question the owner more.
