What gears are in it now? 3.55? If so I personally wouldnt bother with that size tire.

If you have 3.08s or something I would do 3.73s

4.10's all the way and especially if you have an AOD, plus next time you change tires I bet you'll want to go larger still and you'll already have decent gearing in place.

Conanski, if a person were to go from 3.55 to 4.10 gears with an AOD transmission, will the AOD throttle valve cable have to be re-adjusted, or do any other modifications need to be done to the transmission?

Don't fear the gear! Go 4.10s......especially with a 302, big tires and an overdrive trans. It will feel like a different truck.

I assume it's a 4X4 w/31" tires? Don't forget the front gears as well.

4.10'S FOR THE WIN!!!!! haha, i have 4.11 on my rear and 4.10 on my front with 31x10.50's in a 302 with an E4OD and i love it. originally had 3.55 gears and stock 265/75R/15 cooper tires. truck likes the improvement.

No other adjustments necessary to accommodate the gearing.. though since guys generally install those gears to help with larger tires the speedo should be recalibrated.
