I need a replacement harmonic balancer. I'm thinking of ordering a replacement from Summit, but have no clue what to get. I put my engine details(stock 351modified) in their search and i see four options:


PIO-DA-3512-HD

ATI-918930

PIO-DA3512

FLU-620200

Three are rubber dampers, one is liquid. The ATI one says it needs seperate hub. What is that? What do ya'll recommend?

The one and only time i've replaced one was on a '93 Ford Tempo. There was only one type and it was an easy R&R. I'm not sure how tough this job will be, as my Haynes manual does not tell me how to R&R one on a 351m.

Thanks ya'll. Did ya'll use new bolts and washers to install the replacement balancers? I ordered one from Summit. Don't know if it comes with a new bolt or not? Also, what do i need to anticipate? I plan to borrow the loaner removal and install tool from a local auto parts store.

 

I didn't replace any of the attaching parts.

But I broke my friend's el-cheapo Harbor Freight puller tryin' to get it off. The one you get an a parts place should be of better quality....
